1. Introduction
Qulture ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Qulture mobile application.
By using Qulture, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers.
Content You Create
We store the lists, items, notes, and media you add to Qulture, including titles, descriptions, images, and any metadata associated with your content.
Voice Data
When you use voice features, audio is temporarily processed to generate a text transcription. We do not permanently store raw audio recordings. Transcriptions may be retained as part of your conversation history within the app.
Usage Information
We collect information about how you interact with the app, including features used, session duration, and error logs. This helps us improve the service.
Device Information
We may collect basic device information such as operating system version and app version for troubleshooting purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Qulture service
- Personalize your experience and deliver AI-powered features
- Process voice and image inputs to generate organized lists
- Sync your data across devices
- Respond to support requests
- Monitor and analyze usage to improve the app
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
4. Third-Party Services
Qulture integrates with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (United States)
- Anthropic Claude — AI analysis of text and images to power smart features
- OpenAI Whisper — voice transcription
- Google — authentication (Google Sign-In), book metadata, and maps
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie and TV show metadata
- Instagram — optional integration to import your saved posts
- Spotify — optional integration to import your playlists
- Picovoice Porcupine — on-device wake word detection (no audio leaves your device)
When you use optional integrations (Instagram, Spotify), we access only the data necessary to provide the import feature and do not store your credentials.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Supabase servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data, and secure OAuth 2.0 authentication.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request deletion of your data (also available directly in-app)
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Objection — object to certain types of processing

8. Children's Privacy
Qulture is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification.
Your continued use of Qulture after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
